Vehicle has developed a hesitation in the power-assist steering when making a turn. Worse at low speeds. Changed power steering pump (new pump), belt tension good, flushed fluid, reservoir full. Vehicle has 104k miles. Any ideas what to check next?

The hesitation would make me think of worn out pulleys or bearings
When the belt was off, did you check all the other pulleys to make sure they spun freely?

The pump drives from the alternator, no other pulleys in the loop. Thanks for the reply.

Got to thinking about your reply, checked the main drive belt (that drives the alternator) and found it loose (new belt, needed a tightening). Tightened main belt, problem solved! Thanks, Avisitor.
