100K Warranty Hype

I have a 2001 Accent with 97K miles on it. I have always changed the
oil at or before the recommended intervals; in fact, for most of the
life of the car I have changed the oil every 3k miles. I use nothing
    but Mobil 1.

A few weeks ago, I started noticing a tapping sound from the engine.
I assumed it was a lifter and took it to a dealer. The service dept.
drug their heels every step of the way. They had the car several days
and claimed there was not a problem. I told the service manager
exactly what the problem was (by researching it at the Hyundai Service
website). After a couple more days, their "technician" claimed that
the engine had not been properly maintained (which is totally absurd,
I have all the receipts except for one). In disgust, I picked up my
car, the dealer all the time promising they would get back to me on
servicing it under warranty. Of course, they haven't gotten back to
me and it's 2 weeks later. Any suggestions on how to proceed next?

This may not help, but it should only take a minute to tell the
    manufacturer:

Q: Where can I complain about the service I received from my dealer?

A: You may contact our Consumer Affairs Department toll free at
    800-633-5151 (5:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, Monday -
Friday) or write to us at:

Take your car to another dealer.

BTW, I've had much better service
    from stand alone Hyundai dealers.

If the car hasn't been properly maintained, it should be obvious (sludge in
engine, etc.). Call Hyundai like the other poster suggested. At my
dealer, we can get an answer on something like this from the factory rep
in a couple days. I don't know what's taking your dealer so long.
