1992 Elantra Power Steering pump pressure switch??

Discussion in 'Hyundai Elantra / Lantra' started by Jean Castonguay, Nov 22, 2007.

  1. On the schematic diagram, one can see that the state of the 1992
Elantra Power Steering pump pressure switch is read by the Engine
    Control Unit (ECU).

What does the ECU do with this signal? There is no Check Engine Light
    in this car.

    Thank you very much.

The ECM uses the signal at idle to bump up the idle actuator a little bit
    once it sees pressure.
