    Hi,
I just got an used Hyundai Sonata GLE 1996 but it has no owner manual.
Just wondering what is the "P ECT N" button beside the gear is for.
And the "N" side cannot be pressed, is that normal?
Appreciate if anyone can enlighten me. Also if you have softcopy of the
    owner manual. Thanks.

    It sounds pretty much normal.

This button switches between two preprogrammed shift schedules. "P," for
"power" will get you sportier type shifting -- it'll shift more
frequently, downshift earlier, and upshift later than "N," which is for
    "normal."
