2000 Hyundai Elantra automatic overdrive problem

When overdrive is on, it shifts thru the lower gears and then instead of shifting into overdrive it like shifts into neutral. When overdrive is off, it shifts fine but engine is doing 3,100 RPM at 50 MPH.
