2001 Accent - Right Front Wheel Squeals

Discussion in 'Hyundai Accent' started by steve ravioli, Sep 14, 2005.

  1. the right front wheel has been making a screeching/squealing noise
about a week ago. it's only this wheel and it started off faint and
would stop everytime i applied the brakes. then it became constant -
continually making noise whether or not i was braking and at any speed
too. however, now it's off and on... sometimes it doesnt screech at all
but then it'll start back up a several minutes later. i replaced the 2
front tires about 6 months ago and theyve given me no problems
    themselves.

the car isnt shaking or vibrating and the brakes seem to be fine...no
different than before. the sound it's making is sort of like the sound
a worn or loose belt makes, but it is clearly coming from (and only)
    the right front wheel.

    any ideas?

brakes are worn, sounds like the wear warning sensor on the pads.
take off the wheel and look at the innner/outer pads

  4. Or you can just ignore it and it will go away when the warning sensors
break off. The next sound you will hear is the grinding of the metal
brake pad holders on the rotors. ;-)

Seriously, whenever you hear squealing from the wheels, immediately
check the brake pads for wear. ignoring it or putting it off will just
result in bigger problems down the line.
