I'm going to replace the battery in my 2001 Elantra and was wondering if
there is anything to watch out for,be carefull of.Is there anything with
the computers that need attention or is it just a straight forward switch
of the old for the new.Thank you.

  2. Dadeo,

You can try replacing the light bulbs for the rear brakes. I had an 02
Elantra GT which I had a tail lamp go out and the back 3rd brake light did
not work and cruise control did not work. Replaced bulb and it all worked
again. Might not be it, but its a $1.00 15 minute procedure that might
    work.

  3. As long as the new battery fits right, there's nothing special you need
to do when changing it. You'll lose the presets on your radio, but
that's probably the only thing you'll notice.

The ECU (computer) will be reset and it will determine new parameters
based on inputs from the various engine sensors. The car should run fine
and the re-calibration process will proceed in the background.
