    Hello

2001 elantra radiator. What tools are needed for replacement and
installation???I dont have alot of tools. I usually need to buy some
when doing anything. A list of what is needed would be great. I have
replaced a radiator on my 79 eldorado. It was a major pain (I stripped
the trans line using plyers(wrong tool) and would like things to go
more smoothly this time. Thanks for any help in advanced!!!

    Pliers (for hose clamps)
    Ratchet
    10mm socket
    2" extension
    12mm socket or wrench
#3 Phillips screwdriver (optional-- for removing petcock).

    Here's how I'd do it:
    Drain radiator
    Remove upper hose (pliers)
    Remove fans (3 10mm bolts)
Remove lower hose from engine (pliers)
Remove trans cooler hoses from transmission (pliers)
Remove radiator upper mounts (2 12mm bolts)
Unbolt radiator from condensor (4 10mm bolts-- 2 on top, 2 about halfwa
    down)
    Remove radiator from vehicle.
Swap hoses from old to new radiator.
    Install in reverse

When unbolting the compressor, does this the freon from the ac
system? And if so, will it damage the ac system?

You're unbolting the radiator from the condensor, not the compressor. A
long as you don't disconnect the a/c lines from the condensor-- which yo
shouldn't need to do-- you'll lose no refrigerant
