I am told by the dealer this code will require 1hr of troubleshooting..no
mention of the added cost of parts. Apparently this is a small leak in
the evap system. Any experience on this problem out there?

Loose fuel cap is the most common problem. Could also be a leaking purge
valve. Have they checked the cap and run an evap self test? This should
tell them whether the problem is currently present.

Thanks for the response. I did not get any feedback on the problem other
than that it will take 1 hr to diagnose..perhaps that is to run the evap
self test you mentioned. I will make sure I have the cap tight before I
book it in for any further testing..thanks again.

I had this happen on my sephia a couple years back..turned out to be a
bad gas cap. To try and isolate the problem I swapped the cap from one
of my other vehicles, re-set the ECM and the problem went away. Might
be worth a try before you take it in.
