2002 SantaFe ; doesnt shift into 4th gear when cold

Discussion in 'Hyundai Santa Fe' started by Dave in Lake Villa, Oct 10, 2005.

  1. Its a 4 speed automatic trans. Ive noticed that it will not
automatically shift into top gear when cold. Once it warms up a bit, it
will . How normal is this ?

very normal, speeds up the warming process to lengthen the life of your cat
