I've got a 2002 Sonata LX with 85k miles that has developed a very
nasty habit. If I hit a frost heave or something similar, the radio
cuts out briefly then returns and plays perfectly. This trick was
followed a short time later with the airbag light staying lit after
startup. Then shortly thereafter, the radio began flipping between CD
and FM without a CD in the player. This would go on for a bit and
would stop and return to normal when I hit the FM button on the
radio. This morning was the capper though; on the way to the office,
the radio began to broadcast a hum, began flipping between FM and CD
and now started to move the power antenna up and down. I tried to
turn the unit off but it would come back on by itself - I'm beginning
to think the car is possessed. Up to now the car has been flawless
and otherwise runs and operates almost like new. Anybody have any
ideas where to start looking for a solution?
