2003, 2.7 v6 4wd santa Fe (only front wheel drive working no lights illuminated please help)

I have a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.7 l v6 that the four-wheel-drive is not engaging only the front wheels spin in the snow no lights are illuminated on the dash and I just got 12 inches of snow so would be very cool to figure out a problem I looked where the four-wheel-drive module is on the 3.5 v6 come to find out I was told there's no module on the 2.7 so I don't know where to go next I checked every fuse and heard it's a common issue but never found a solution posted...
