I have had this vehicle in the shop many times for lose of gas pedal response after first start up. The vehicle will loose power and sound like it is back firing thru the intake just after a few minutes of driving. By simply turning off and restarting the engine seems to eliminate the situation until I have an other cold start. Can't seem to find anyone that knows what the problem is.

What mileage is the car at?
And when was the last time the timing belt was changed?
Try cleaning the IAC and EGR?
Also add some injector cleaner in the gas tank?
