    Catalytic converter light is on??
That is something new to me
Usually it is the check engine light that goes on.

Drive cycle ... can read up on that from googling internet
Your local DMV website should also have it.

thanks. It is the Cat light on the diagnostic hand held machine that has a red X. everything else is green ck mark. No check engine light has ever been on so there are no codes.

Okay, so the engine computer, ECM, has not completed the drive cycle to check off the catalytic converter.
Did you replace the battery recently?

So you don't have any problem but just need to complete the drive cycle.
