Does the 2004 Tiburon V6 have a replaceable fuel filter?
The parts guy at my local dealer says that it's a part of the
fuel pump assy and not meant to be replaced until you replace
the fuel pump. The less-than-helpful Hyundai service manual
sort of implies that it's actually above the gas tank, beneath
the rear seat.

Which is it? I can't believe you can go 100-150K miles on
one fuel filter! The ones I've changed on other cars have
brownish fuel in them after only 30K miles.

Correction: The service manual only mentions replacing a fuel
filter in the 4-cyl engine without saying where it's located. But
the instructions imply that it's in the engine compartment, attached
with banjo bolts like an old Excel. There's absolutely nothing
about the fuel system of the 6-cyl model in its own chapter of
the service manual.
