2006 Azera ignition won't turn, key is NOT stuck

So how do I get the ignition to turn....tried several things already and it still won't budge.

Check to see if the gear selector is in proper place .. wiggle if necessary
Turn the steering wheel while trying to turn key
If these fail then might need to replace ignition switch
