A friend of mine has a 2008 Sonata with about 14,000 miles. He has a
serious alignment problem which is causing tire wear and cupping. He
doesn't recall hitting any bad pot holes or anything else. Is this a
known problem with this model? Would this be covered under warranty?

    From the Hyundai web site:
    http://www.hyundaiusa.com/global/warranty/warranty.aspx
    Adjustments: 1 year / 12,000 miles

If a part is defective, yes, if out of adjustment, no.

Not a known issue. Outside the 12,000 mile limit for realignment
    under warranty.

Thank you HT. My friend is bringing his Sonata in to an alignment
specialist tomorrow morning. I'll report if there is anything
    interesting.

The rear wheels were found to need alignment as well as one of the
fronts. The tires were rotated and things seem to be a lot better.
