We are the original owners. My wife's car. It has 85K on it. Always serviced at Hyundai. Do not tow with it , nor off-road. We learned recently due to fluid dripping that the splinded male and female drive connections between the trans and transfer case are badly stripped. Hyundai will replace trans and xfer case under warranty. I'm concerned about long term reliability, seems very unusual for this type of failure. Has anyone else experienced this?

Be happy that Hyundai will warranty this job
Sometimes it is tough enough to admit there is an issue.
And, personally haven't had this issue.

If you get another 85k from the car, then consider yourself fortunate. Many Honda Odyssey owners have their transmissions fail multiple times before reaching 200k.
