99 Elantra ignition key reminder

Hi, I have a 99 Elantra GLS.
The ignition key reminder chime sounds when the driver door is open "without"
having the key in the ignition.
When the door is closed quiet.
Any clues?
 
nope
In fact as far as I can tell the 99 Elantra does not have a lights on warning.
The headlights go off but the parking lights remain on when I turn off the
ignition.

Are you sure it's not the chime for your headlights?
