Aftermarket Elantra CD players

Discussion in 'Hyundai Elantra / Lantra' started by Lyall Kingman, Jul 24, 2003.

  1. I have an 02 Elantra GT with the AM/FM/CD audio unit.
Are there aftermarket CD players that will fit into the blank space between
the audio unit and heat/ac unit?
If so, will they plug directly into the existing audio unit? Will the use
the 6 numbered key on the audio unit to select cds?

Do you mean that you have an AM/FM/Cassette player and want to ad a CD?

It sounds more like the OP has exactly what is indicated: an AM/FM/CD
audio unit. They want to add a CD Changer (read the last sentence,
    it's the key).

To the OP: You'll have to look around and see if anybody makes a unit
that would fit there and is compatable with the Hyundai front end
controller. I don't know who makes if for them. Do some research on
    this yourself.

Hyundai can provide you with a changer that your front end controller
will interface with, but it's designed to fit into the trunk. Being
as it's provided from HMC, you can bet that it, and it's installation,
    will NOT be cheap!

This is probably not what you want but I bought a Sony CDX-720 it has a
4volt or 5.5 volt (You select Preamp output voltage for front and rear) And
why I bought it is it matches the blue lights for the insturment cluster
perfectly. I paid aprox $150 off of ebay about 6 months ago and I have
been very happy. If you would like pics just ask in the forum and I will
post them. I like the space inbetween the climate and radio controls
because it provides an excelent place for CD's when I change CD's.
