AOL will no longer provide dial-up users access to newsgroups. If you want to
keep newsgroups active, please contact AOL customer service and voice your
    concerns.

  2. Nothing personal, but that's probably the best thing that could happen
    to Usenet.
Or get a real ISP. If you're smart enough to be on Usenet, you're too
    smart to be on AOL.

    OMG PLZ GO, KTHX!@#$@$

The greatest thing that happened to Efnet (IRC) was when they booted the
AOL servers off of it. :p

    From: Brian Nystrom
According to the LA Times last year, the average income of AOL users is about
72% higher than those who use the el cheapo ISPs hoping to save $5/mo.
Not that income is necessarily an indication of intelligence...but probably is.

  6. Who said anything about saving money?
Considering that AOL is basically "The Internet for Dummies", that
    theory doesn't hold much water.
