Auto exterior light shutoff for 2000 Sonata GLS?

Since purchasing a used 2000 Sonata GLS, the feature that the wife
misses the most from her old '88 Ford are the exterior lights shutting
off automatically with the ignition. The Sonata does shut off the
headlights, but leaves the parking lights on. Unfortunately it does
not even sound an alarm if these lights are left on when you get out
of the car. (Even my 30-year-old AMC Hornet does that much!)

Is there any option on these cars to have all the exterior lights shut
down with the ignition if the light switch is left in the headlight
position? Maybe a wiring or relay change? (I have no idea whether the
headlights on this car are controlled via traditional wiring and
relays, or whether they are computer-controlled.)

Sorry don't know the answer to this question :-(
But i know this is probably the best new feature on my new 2004 Sonata.
My previous 1999 Sonata had an alarm that goes of if you open your door with the headlights on..
Maybe your car's alarm is not functioning.

Shut off valve

The dealer and mechanics wanted over $400 to fix the gas pump fill shut off problem, i fixed it by buying the valve for less than $50 in about 15 minutes.

My wife had the same issue, i hooked up a headlight on buzzer to the ignition switch - works just fine.
