I have a battery issue, at least I think that's what it is. This morning my
'02 Sonata wouldn't start, all I hear is a continuous fast clicking sound
when I turn over the key. My question is, I'm the 2nd owner of this car
and it has about 42,000 miles on it. I'm not sure when the car was
purchased by the original owner (don't have the registration at hand) but
I'm pretty sure it was somewhere October of 2001. Is the battery still
covered by the factory warranty or shall I just go ahead and put my own
    in? Thanks in advance!

If the vehicle was indeed originally delivered in 10/01, the battery is
partially warranted. Hyundai will pay the labor and 25% of the parts to
replace your battery if necessary. Under two years, it's free. After
    three years, they pay nothing.

It's worth taking to the dealer. It's a reasonable deal on the battery --
at least competitive with what you'd pay anywhere else. And, if it's the
alternator, they can just replace that under your bumper to bumper 5/60
    warranty.
