Can I buy a used ecu and reprogram it to my car

    my ecu isnt working properly on my Hyundai Sonata 2006 I was wondering if can buy a used one and reprogram it to my car?

    Don't quote me ...

    Depends on where you are in the world.
    If in the European region then you need the key to go along with the ECU
    The ECU is paired with the key.
    Don't know about the VIN.

    If in the US then you could probably do it.
    However, you will need the Hyundai scan tool to program the VIN correctly
