I have looked into it, and as a website owner, I am familiar with people
spamming the registery and forums and such. BUT, how is someone supposed to
let people know about a website (that is not malicious, and is a genuine
place) without posting to a few places?? As a website owner, you have to get
the word out somehow. I did not feel that I was SPAMMING the newsgroups,
while I was posting to the ones that I read often. The text inside the post
was minimal, and I did steal anyone's e-mail address (which seems to be
quite popular in newsgroups). I feel that some people abuse the term *spam*
to much. I have never cross posted before, and felt that it would make it
easier to hit all the newsgroups I read at the same time. I see now that
people are too quick to acuse you of SPAMMING, instead of realizing the
actual purpose of it. The reason I posted the link on the newsgroups,
instead of anywhere else is because, on average, I believe that newsgroup
readers are more mature, enthusiastic, and have more interest in the
particular topic (auto's in this case).
Hopefully some people realize the purpose of the post and visit/enjoy my
site, as I did not mean to strike up an arguement of any kind. So, at this
point I appologize if you find my original post offending.
Thanks
