Difficult starting when the engine is cold

Hello,
For about 2 years now we have been struggling with a rather unpleasant problem with my father's car - a 2002 Hyundai Accent 1.3 LC with Lovato gas injection.

When the engine is cold, the car starts extremely difficultly, usually after an extremely large number of attempts, and sometimes it even refuses to start, regardless of the number of attempts.

When the engine is warm or relatively warm, it starts instantly, without any problem.

In an attempt to fix the problem, we have replaced the following so far:
  • Fuel pump (entire assembly)
  • Crankshaft sensor
  • Fuel vapor valve
  • MAF cleaned
  • Spark plug wires and spark plugs
  • Idle control motor
  • Throttle Position Sensor
  • Throttle valve cleaned
What I notice during unsuccessful attempts to start a cold engine:
  • It smells like unburned gasoline
  • The starter turns normally, but the engine does not start
  • The only error that has appeared in recent months is P1123, which has appeared in the past and disappeared after cleaning the MAF. It was the same now.
  • When trying to start directly on gas, the car starts the first time, without any problem, but this is not a long-term solution.
  • The tachometer on the dashboard is not working and always shows 0, but I have a HUD display connected to the OBD port, which shows the rpm correctly.
I would be grateful for any ideas, because we no longer know which direction to look.

Not an expert on the gas setups, but that smell plus starting first time on gas makes me think it is flooding itself on petrol when it is cold. The cheap thing I would check first is the coolant temperature sensor, if it tells the computer the engine is colder than it really is it will dump in way too much fuel. A leaky injector or the wiring for the gas system on the injectors could do it too. Have you tried holding the pedal to the floor while cranking it cold? On a lot of cars that clears a flood.
