Does anyone moderate this board?

There's a lot of good sharing going on here, but the volume of Get Rich/Get
Horny/Get Virus postings is very annoying. Not that this is unique to this
newsgroup. Is there some overseeing presence that can delete these annoying
    posts?

This group isn't moderated, but some are.

The Microsoft Patch Virus... is perpetuated by users opening the virus...
it'll stop when human stupidity does.

  3. Alt.autos.hyundai is an unmoderated Usenet group but I assure you each and
every one of the off topic posts are reported to the appropriate
    authorities.

  4. No. Welcome to Usenet. Usenet is a distributed organization composed
of everyone who runs a newsswerver, and not every news admin hates spam.
Some of them don't care, some of them are too overworked to care, some
unscrupulous admins make money off spam. (And this isn't a "board",
    it's a newsgroup.)
Moderation isn't a cureall. The web-based forums at
http://newtiburon.com/ are moderated, but that doesn't stop the forum
denizens from behaving like illiterate idiots. Not too much spam there,
but the user interface is a total PITA.

FWIW, the only time I see spam on alt.autos.hyundai is when well-meaning
people follow up to spam and quote the spam. The admin at
news.cis.dfn.de is doing his job of culling all messages with a
Breidbart Index that's too high or messages that contain the Microsoft
Worm-O-The-Week, and I thank him for it.

Yeah, I like the old forums at NT. The new forum GUI is ugly and
doesn't load correctly half the time.
