On my Elantra when the gas tank nears empty the gas pump
icon lights up - nice, but does anyone know how much fuel is
actually in the tank when the warning light comes on? I
could not find anything in the owners manual about this.
    TIA.

I don't own an Elantra so I can't be sure, but most vehicles will have
between 1-2 gallons when the light turns on. Be careful going up and
down hills though. With that little gas inthe tank it's possible to
    stall.

To be safe figure a minimum of 1 gallon which should be good for
around 30 miles....very possiblt two gallons but I wouldn't count on
    it.

8 litres is about the standard but don't count on more than about 4.
don't make a habit of driving with low fuel either as the fuel pump
    uses it for cooling.
that and not changing the fuel filter when due, reduce the life of the
    pump.

  5. Dunno about the Elantra, but my 2000 Accent has about 2.5 gallons
left in the tank when the light comes on (11.9 tank, 9.4 to fill up).
