got an '02 elantra GLS, and the steering wheel pulls back and forth
(clockwise and counter) quickly about an inch or so at low speeds (less than
    30 mph).

Anyone else had this or possible ideas?

  2. Sounds like you have a tire going bad.

  3. screwtape iii had nothing better to do than to say:
Could also be alignment or wheel balance issues, I suppose...

I had this problem on one of my previous cars, turns out that car was
sitting in the parking lot too long with weak tires that sagged under the
weight of the car. I am pretty sure if you replace tires that your problem
    will disappear.

  5. sounds like a tire issue.... you can develop a wobble from tires at slow
speed... look at the tread and run your hand over the surface looking
for unusual spots or hi then low spots , also look at the tire edges
along inside and outer side for same thing or for balding.... sometimes
the tire internal cords can separate also (you can't see it)
suggest taking it to a dealer or respectable tire dealer for a
    professional look see
