I know it is not what the manual says...........it was changed to 3.5 or 3.2
, I can't find the url but someone will answer this with the right answer
soon i'll bet.

02 Elantra is 3.5 qt. w/filter. I will look up the TSB and post it for you.

The owners manual shows 4.5 qts. I changed it today, and it was close to 3.5
w/filter.
