Extra engine oil !!

Hi everyone , i just bought 2018 hyundai tucson SEL , the owner's manual say i should put 4.23 qts in engine oil , i put 5 qts in because honestly i didn't want the throw away the remaining oil , my question is am i ruining my engine ??

It is possible the extra oil will do unexpected things to the engine.
Personally, I just set aside the bottle with the oil in it.
If later, the engine needs oil then I will put it in.
Otherwise, just sits in the back, wrapped in plastic bags.

 

I just put in only 5 quarts. It is enough.

 

I meant 4 quarts.

 

I would use the oil dip stick and go by what it reads.
If not at the full line then add some oil.
