Hi All, I checked the gas mileage for the first time since I got my 6
cylinder Sonata. I got 21.4 MPG, all city driving. Not bad! I'll be
taking a 400 mile freeway trip (one way) at the end of the month and
I'll post the freeway mileage then.

Mileage should get better after 6000 miles ;-)

My 2004 Sonata V6 gets between 21-23 around town and 27-29 MPG on long trips
with minimal stops.
In contrast, my 2001 Corvette, V8 (375hp), 6 speed, gets over 30 MPG on long
trips with minimal stops.
Shows what two good overdrive gears can do for gas mileage. Something like
1500 rpm at 70 MPH.

Hi all, Well, I just got back yesterday from my 430 mile trip, each
way. On the way there (from Michigan to Illinois/Iowa border) I got
31.5 MPG and on the way back I got 30.8 MPG. The slight decrease on
the way back is because I had me neice and her 2 children, along with
their luggage with me. I figure the added weight was the reason. The
car handled beautifully and I am very happy with the gas mileage,
considering how sweet this car rides.

You didn't say at what speed.

31.5 isn't too bad for a new car but I can get better than that with my
wifes Oldsmobile. It is a '91 with the 3.3 in it.
Turns in 30 around town and close to 38 on the highway. Not bad for a 4
door. This is running at 65-70 MPH as well.

Uh-Huh.

Well, I kept it at 5 over the limit. Most of the way it was 75 MPH but
I would estimate that at least half of the way was either 70 MPH or 60
MPH.
