I have a Hyundai 1992 AT Elantra with a bad OD switch-it almost
won't stay in for Overdrive(normal) mode.
I want to replace it or mod it to work the other way around (OUT
    for OD).
How do you get to it? The AT shift handle has no screws...
    :*( help!

    Thanks, Aaron H.

You don't have to pull the shift handle to do this. Remove the console and
follow the wires coming out of the shift handle. There will be three of
them going to a connector. You'll need a pick tool. Using the tool,
remove the red/yellow and green/brown wires from one side of the connector
and install them in the reverse positions.

Keep in mind that this may or may not fix your problem. The switch is
intended to provide power to one of the two wires mentioned above; the
red/yellow, going to the TCM, causing the TCM to turn on 4th gear; or the
green/brown, illuminating the O/D OFF lamp. It's entirely possible that
the switch may provide power to neither when malfunctioning.

Thank you Hyundaitech!!! I found and reversed the two wires, the
switch now works backwards, with out being "normal" now.
It got to the point I was afraid to even touch the switch lest it
pop out and I lose 4th gear.....
    Thanks again!!
