Like the subject says, I can't figure out where the hek the fuel filter is
on a 03 Tiburon. I pulled out the back seat, and see a black cover, pulled
it off and see a round black ring held on by about 8 small bolts which holds
    the pump in.

I un-did the 8 or so bolts, pulled off the 2 fuel lines and took out the
pump which looks like a large plastic cylinder about the size of a apple
juice tin with the float atached to it.

So I'm like WTF is the filter in side this thing?!?!?!?!?

I looked on the Hyundai web-tech site and to me the pics are vague and the
description of what to do even more so. :-(

So after some taking crap apart and puttin it back together, I'm no farther
ahead than if I'd done sweet F all. A simple thing like replacing the fuel
    filter has got me baffled.

    Thanks all for any help.

I believe the fuel filter is the black cylidrical part around the pump. If
you get the new one first, it should be apparent. I've only replaced one
of these, and it's been about a year since I've had a fuel pump out, so my
    memory is starting to fail.

Yah I have the new one and it's just about the size of a small jam jar, or
something. When I pulled the pump outta the tank there was nothing obvious
about where the filter could be. I can't believe in the 1st place you need
to take the pump out to get at the fuel filter anyways.

You were right on it...The fuel filter is located at that precise location.
Reference for your filter is 31911-2c000 or 2d000..

    cheers
