I have been told these newer vehicles do not use speedo cables. Can whatever measures speed cause a noise if the are defective?. No issues with speedometer reading.

    There are two speed sensors
    One is on the transmission
And the other is the right front wheel ABS sensor
The ECU uses both to determine the vehicle is running correctly
If not then ECU can put vehicle is limp home mode
The signals are electrical and not audible.

Need to determine where the sound is coming from
Is it a bad wheel bearing
    Or a bad harmonic balancer
    Or .... just don't know
