Has anyone ever ordered from keylessride.com? (www.keylessride.com)
If the answer is yes, how was it? would you do business with them again?

I'm shopping for a keyless entry to my '00 Sonata GLS, and this website
seems to have it for $200 cheaper than the dealer asks for. (Dealer
$250+setting up fee while the website is $50 with S/H included)

    Thanks

A related question -- did the 2000 Sonata GLS come standard with
keyless entry, or was it an option? (If an option, how can one tell if
    so equipped?)

We bought a 2000 GLS used and it came without any keyless remotes, but
we have no real idea as to whether they were lost or the car is simply
not equipped with a keyless entry system.

    LOL
What a coincidence, I bought just myself a 2000 Sonata GLS that did not come
with the keyless remotes too you know.

I can't really tell you for sure, but since I already visited the Hyundai
dealer (because of the airbag light recall, btw you should check that too
once you're at it.) and he told it did have the keyless entry with remote
    trunk release installed.

My dealer was asking ~$250 for 2 remotes, about yours? (if you checked the
    cost that is)

    Thanks

PS. I'm loving everything about this car, so confortable and so quiet.

As far as I know, the GLS in the U.S. came with the remote entry
standard. You can find the remotes on eBay all the time, for about $20
or less. You have to go through a procedure to get the car to recognize
a particular remote. The dealer wants to charge a lot for it, but
someone in the group could tell you how to do it at home, no doubt.

Ours has a mechanical, manual trunk release. (It's not solenoid
operated, you pull up a lever next to the driver's seat which operates
    a cable release.)
Haven't looked into it because we didn't know if the car had the
keyless entry feature. Sounds like maybe it doesn't due to the
mechanically-operated trunk release, but still not really sure...
It's definitely a very nice car. We had some transmission issues with
ours, but it was fixed at no cost under warranty.

Well, mine also has a manual trunk release located beside the drivers seat
but if you read the owner's manual they make reference that the car also has
a switch within the trunk lock (take a look at it, on the right side, a
white lever) to disable the keyless trunk release. This was one of the
things the dealer looked for when trying to identify if the car came
equipped with keyless entry from factory or not.

    I have a 2002 elantra and it has keyless entry......question, I thought I
could open the trunk from the inside but now (after 2 years) I can't find
it, am I looking right at it ?

    TIA, Michael

I took a look inside the trunk and found that there is a solenoid
attached to the trunk lock in addition to the manual release cable, so
it seems likely that the car *does* have keyless entry.

So if remotes are purchased from one of the mail-order outfits
mentioned, what has to be done to get the car to recognize them? Is
    this a dealer-only ($$$) thing?

    Congratulations then!

No, supposedly the websites (or online stores) who you would buy the remotes
from would provide you with the necessary instructions in order to make the
car recognize the new remote/s. From what I gathered it's not that difficult
    to do it.
