    I have the 1999 Lantra Sportswagon GLS - rio tomato colour

    Above the basic SE model, I got

    * 2 litres instead of 1.8
    * velour on the doors.
    * hyundai plastic coated alloy wheels
    * power mirrors
    * electric antenna
    * tinted windows.

    There's a few flakes on the left mirror, there's some bubbles near the
    flakes.
    Hyundai said they wont repair this under warranty. The pattern of flakes
    looks like its finger prints...
    The bubbles that are there show that the damage was not caused by scratches,
    stone chips. I think Hyundai should repair this under warranty.

    I had to oil the antenna . it was making an awful clunking noise, but some
    light machine oil soaked in and calmed it. Gurr , dont they oil this at
    service time ? What do I pay them for ?

    Paint work is easily chipped and panels are dented by shopping trolleys .
    paint chips and dents also appear from careless people in car parks hitting
    my beauty with their door.

    I had a drama with the roof racks - I got them replaced because they were
    corroding badly. (Must have been produced without zinc! ) So to replace the
    roof racks they had to pull off all the trim off the ceiling and sides...
    Ah so that is a long story.

    They did replace the racks, but they didnt fit all the trim back -some
    broke.
    I took it in on the day they nominated, but they didnt fit anything - wrong
    parts.
    I did get the correct parts fitted, but then one of the parts of the trim
    cracked (the trim on the pillar near the drivers head) , and another part
    was fitted wrong.
    I took it in for them to fix the , but they broke the replacement for the
    cracked bit while fitting it.
    So finally I took back yet again and got that part fixed.

    Yeah I know your pain. I bought this car because of the warranty but that
    didn't even last a day with the paint. I hope down the road they HONOR the
    100,000 mile warranty better than the cheap paint job they did. What a shame
    it is when people who are interested in buying a new car see a 2003 Tiberon
    that looks 3-4 years old right from the dealer. They got me once and Hyundai
    showed me what they are made of.

    Well the paint work is done cheaply, no perfect polishing because the paint
    is too thin and by the time it was polished properly it wouldnt have any
    paint left.

    You bought that.

    I didnt buy fingerprints. They threw them in for free.

    **Lucky you. My ex-Santa Fe had a hair curled all over the door handle
    underneath the paint. Gross! :)

  5. Was it a long hair or a short hair?

    Regards,

    **Hmm, I'd say it was medium. If it was, in fact, a human hair, I'd
    say that it was either a really shaggy-haired guy or a woman. Do you
    think it's something else (not a hair) that might've happened in the
    process?
