maintainence + warranty coverage

What do I need to get from my service guys who do the oil changes, etc. on
my new elantra to keep the warranty valid? Do I just need the receipts, or
do I need them to fill out the maintainence log, etc.?

Receipts should be fine. Make sure they use the proper transmission fluid.
