Been waiting with bated breath for the new Genesis. What a disappointment.

Ah yes, I remember. I've always been amused by how fashions for cars,
accessories, etc, change from state to state and even from city to city.

  7. They were, IMO, the good old days of the custom automobile. When we bought
a car, the first thing we did was remove the nose and deck trim, filled the
hoses and primered it. Even if you never did the final paint, you were cool
because you took of the trim. You put Buick lenses in the taillight of your
'55 Chevy. Then there were the fake whitewalls that you could add to a
    black tire.

Lowering blocks and fender skirts and you were good to go.

I get a kick out of the "rat rod" craze that's on right now. Speakin'
of '55 Chevy, my first car in '67 was a '55 Bel Air 2 door hard top. I
yanked the 235 and stuck a 283 in it. Man, I should have hung onto that
one. Had a '47 Chevy 1/2 ton/short bed pickup as well I picked up in
the early '70's. On several occasions guys offered me more for the
original (excellent condition) grill, then I paid for the truck itself.
It had that big ugly grill guard on it that attached to the bumper
which is what saved the grill all those years.

Had the original motor in the PU. 216ci w/ the old solid lifters and
the 6 volt system. Loved those vacuum wipers too. LOL I miss those and
several other vehicles I've had over the years.
