please help

I took my dogs out this weekend for a drive in our 2007 Hyundai Entourage van. We bought it used two weeks ago and love it. However, I fed my dogs some tater tots and my female dog pooped in the back of the van and some of it fell into the seat latches in the floor of the van - it was very runny and stinky. I have been using everything to clean the carpet and it seems to be out of the carpet, but it still stinks and i don't know how to get into those seat latches to try and clean those out. Can anyone tell me what is under those latches? Can i fill them with water and try to flush out the residual poop that fell into there? Or will that make it worse?
I have tried cleaners and air fresheners and it is not working.
