Poor AM reception on 2003 Sonata

    Have a 2003 Sonata with a power antenna and the AM reception has become very
    poor the last few months. Has anyone else experienced this problem? What is
    the fix?

    It's a common problem with the Elantra. Replacing the stock antenna
    cable with a one-piece cable seems to help in many cases. Grounding the
    radio chassis to the car body (the firewall or something bolted to it)
    may also help.
