radio is dead

    well it's not really dead as the display comes on and shows some jumbled
    characters, but it stopped working. I changed the battery last night. What
    gives?

    What year and model car?

    Did anything abnormal happen prior to changing the battery or during the
    change?

    1993 elantra. I did some search on the 'Net and it appears this huyndia has
    ANTI-THEFT radio.
