Replace 2008 Santa Fe external mirrors with heated version.

I have a 2008 Santa Fe GLS we got last July. When we got this one, we took
it from the dealer stock. It was a good deal, and had pretty much
everything I wanted on it except the heated exterior mirrors. I had that
on a previous Santa Fe, and really got used to it. I didn't think it would
be any big deal, but now that winter has set in, I really miss them..

What I'm wondering about is the possibility of adding them to my current
Santa Fe. I'm basing it on some guesses, and I was wondering if anyone
    answer my questions:

    1) Is the wiring for the heated mirrors already in place? I'm would think
for ease of assembly, they use a "standard" wiring harness that would
provide for the connection to the mirror, and probably just has an unused
plug behind the existing mirror. Is this a correct assumption?

    2) If #1 is true, could I get the heated mirror itself, either from Hyundai,
or maybe a salvage yard (do the previous year Santa Fe's use the same
mirror?), and replace the one that's on there now? I'm assuming (there's
that word again!) that the mirror can be removed from the plastic "shell"
and replaced without having to worry about the matching the body color.

    3) If both of the above are true, any info on how to remove and replace the
mirror? Any suggestions on the part number(s) I would need?

I've got access to the HMAService site for the wiring and other technical
info. I took a quick look on there before, but didn't see much that answers
    my questions.

    Any comments would be appreciated.

Apparently, I was having a "senior moment" earlier. I went back and went
through the HMAService site and found some of the info, like how to remove
the mirror and some of the wiring issues. Any suggestions with part
numbers, or any other comments on my plan would still be appreciated.

I don't have any good news.

First, you'll need to replace the entire mirror assembly. You could
probably go used, but it'd need to be from a 2007 or newer Santa Fe.

Second, the wiring is probably not in the door harnesses and maybe not
in the vehicle harness. You can get to the connector for the mirror
easily enough by just popping the triangular cover loose from the
door. Check the schematics to see what wires are necessary for the
heating element and see if they're present in the mirror connectors.
If they are, you can then check for voltage in them with the defogger
    on.

Thanks. That's confirming what I was finding on the HMAService site, that
it was looking like it would be the entire mirror assembly. I guess I was
hoping that they would make the mirror itself replaceable so that they
wouldn't have to stock all the various colors just to replace a damaged
    mirror glass.

You were right. I removed the triangular panel on the door. The plug was
there with extra spots for the additional circuit, but no wires.
I have to admit, I'm a little surprised. I would have thought it would be
simpler for the factory to just use a single "standard" wiring harness that
    would cover all the options.

    Thanks.
