I have a 99 Elantra. Many of the bulbs that illuminate the heater knobs and
such have winked out for good.

How hard is it to change these bulbs? If I choose to take it to the
    dealership, would it be pricey?

I colored all of the bulbs orange in my accent (see
    http://accent_fan.20megsfree.com/dashlights.html ) The bulbs you
are speaking about were pretty easy to get to when I replaced the
radio. I imagine if someone has directions for replacing the radio on
your model you could take it from there. It seems to be a lot of
work for a pair of dinky little bulbs, but if it bothers you that much
    it might be worth it.
