I was wanting to modify the roof rack on our newly acquired 2008 Santa Fe. I wanted to drill a new hole per side about 4 inches further toward the front of the last hole the cross bars fit into. Has anyone done this or know why this would not be ok? I want to do it to widen the base to attach a roof basket... feedback please.
