If I had only one complaint about my '02 Sante Fe, it would be the lack of
power. Getting onto highways, especially when the merge lane isn't very long,
can be kind of tricky, due to the lack of power.
I don't want to void any warranties, but is there anything I can do to step up
    the horses a little?

    Get a K&N air filter.

I recently returned from the high desert to my home next to the Pacific Ocean
.... 305 miles of "three digit" temperatures ... and the usual hour-long delays
around I-80/I-880 construction projects ... and I drove "with the flow" at
about 80 mph most of the way ... and my trusty 2002 SF AWD averaged 18.8 MPG
.... with the A/C on "max" the entire distance.

I had no problems with low power, even at 7,200 feet and a hundred degrees.

The K&N filter will not invalidate your warranty.

Get the filter recharging kit, too.
