Sonata Radio Replacement

Hi,

I own a 2006 3.3L Sonata, and the radio unit is a 6CD changer type with an
externally amplified system.
The car is UK spec meaning that a US version of the radio will not work.
I got the car Jan 2007, and the radio is not RDS and will not play MP3 cd's.
Hyundai have since upgraded the radio that they fit to my car type, and is
now RDS and plays MP3 cd's.
I went to the dealer thinking I would purchase the new type as a spare and
do a straight swap.
Problem. The replacement unit as spare part is over 5000 USD (2700 GBP).
I even contacted Hyundai UK and they confirmed this ridiculously high price.

Does anyone know where I could purchase this radio at a sensible price, like
from the manufacturers, for example.
May I emphasise that a unit for the USA market will not work.

Suggest you get on to Hyundai korea direct
option 2 check with your folk over there and see if Radios fitted to
the Aussie ones are compliant -- may be able to assist just for
cost of postage andc insurance

a £200 rebate, but it proved how badly informed they are. The dealer is even
worse. You got to smile really.

No it does not "only allow you email Hyundai Europe"

It allows you to mail any bloody where in the world old trout.
Navigate around it
also why not persist with hyundai and the laws of the UK they provide
pretty good redress
You know the old saying if at first you dont succeed etc

heck I even offered a radio FREE then you come back and ask how much
for postage

Forget it I just gave to a mate to whack in his Tractor

Compared to what ?
The Tractor happens to be worth more than probably a few houses in the
USA given the sub prime debacle .

Our Idiom is not like the U.S. Thank christ :)

communucate in an unfriendly manner.
I honestly cannot find a better route to communicate to Hyundai on the site.
They encourage you to communicate with the local importers and I have done
that.
Reference the laws of the land, I have already accepted a £200 rebate
because at the time there was no better unit to fit, and not being a simple
ISO fit, I thought it the best course of action at the time.
When asking about price, I was asking what the cost of the unit was in Oz.
I did not know you already had one and believed you would have to buy one
off Hyundai Aus.
May I remind you that my original question was where I could buy one.
I was hoping someone may have had manufacturers details or contacts and go
that route.

As you have accepted a rebate guess that abrogates your claim to an
extent.

Perhaps prowling the following links may lead you to your answer
