I have a strange noise coming from somewhere near the middle of the
dashboard on my year 2000 Hyundai Sonata V6.

It6 sounds like a cross between a bee buzzing about in a paper-cup and
the sound of rice falling on paper.

Can anybody suggest what this might be?

The sound occurs only on engine load such as when I am accelerating of
    the car is driving uphill.

Another query also please: How I remove the wood effect panels on the
dashboard - I can't see any clips of fixing screws anywhere.

    I think I have a answer.
It's the mirror, when you're driving and hear the noise press on the mirror mount where it meets the window.
I have the noise you describe in my Elantra.
    hopr that helps

    Hi,

I have the same problem with my 2000 Elantra. It actually goes on on
certain RPM (usually low) and then disappears after that. If you get
any information regarding that, please post it here.

    Thanks
