stall & no restart

    fabulous Las Vegas
    Sunday 18 June, 100°F in Las Vegas, on my way home from an afternoon movie, my 2008 Accent stalled at a stoplight and would not restart. AAA arrived 20 minutes later, towed it to my friendly local shop, where they found the Crankshaft Sensor had succumbed to the heat. Is this a common problem in the desert Southwest?
