My 2002 Santa Fe was recently stolen. It was recovered a couple days age with no damage (Thank God). The lock/unlock remote and keys were NOT recovered. I am having the locks changed but that was the only remote I had so I need to Disable it so if the thieves come back they can't get into the car. I currently chain the car to a tree at night but that sucks and it does not keep them from going through the car. Local police are a joke. I don't care about replacing the factory lock/unlock remote, just want to stop it from working. IDEAS?

    Don't quote me ... but I remember ...
Getting the remote in the car to be re-programmed should be fairly easy.
Requires compatible remote, moving switch on ETAC to program
and then pressing remote door open for five seconds.
Put switch back and then test.

Check with your local Hyundai dealer.

I recently bought the car so only had one remote. They are cheap on eBay so I could order on and try this but I am putting in an upgraded alarm system.

Then I would check with the guy who is installing your new alarm.
See if he can give you a new remote for the door locks to go with the alarm??
